Established in 2011, Idaho's Hometown Hero Medal pays tribute to individuals that comprise Idaho's unique characteristics and achievements. The honorees are remarkable Idahoans who exemplify outstanding qualities in both their personal and professional lives, while continuing to preserve and promote the richness of Idaho and create a better world for all of us in the future by the work they do today.  Idaho's Hometown Hero Medal was founded by Fahim and Naeem Rahim and is sponsored by JRM Foundation for Humanity, a not-for-profit organization. Dr's Rahim are the recipients of the 2011 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. They were the first Idahoans to receive this prestigious medal.
